Indian Institute Of Advance Studies (Shimla)

It is a research based Institute in India at  Shimla. It is 3 km far from Mall road, and The ridge Shimla. You can go there by hrtc-taxi or by pedestrians way. It was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan The former President of India on 20th October 1965.

It was built as home for Lord Duffin, who was the Viceroy of India during the 1884 and 1888. it was known as the Viceregal Lodge at that time, and many of the historic decisions, including the Shimla Conference of 1945 and the Separation of Pakistan and East Pakistan in 1947, these decisions  taken there.

The building was designed by Henry Irwin , an architect in Public Works Department. A well designed museum and a beautiful garden are also there within the campus.

If you want to visit this place you have to pay for it:

For Indian Visitor's = 30 to 40 Rs per person

For Foreign Visitor's = 60 to 70 Rs per person
